Do you have any comments on the vision and strategy for the future?

Housing should not be without provision for work. I see very little concern for local workplaces. As we are so near Oxford we should work in conjunction with the university, and offer potential small firms incentives to come to the area, especially Carterton.

2

Do you have any comments on the strategy for Witney?

No

3

Do you have any comments on the strategy for Carterton?

I prefer the North option because of all the options it has the possibility of being directly connected to central Carterton, whereas the existing East development is only connected to the A40, the road bridge connecting it to even the swiming pool and health centre was removed. Any West development cannot be directly connected to cental Carterton resulting in yet another isolated community. The west creates flooding problems for nearby villages. No zoned industrial areas.

The Council is proposing further growth at Carterton, either to the east or west of the town. Which of these areas do you prefer and why?

I prefer the North option because it offers the possibility of direct connection by road with the existing town center. The current East development lacks this. North Carterton is going to be similarly cut off by the blocking of Swinbrook road. The proposed access roads are full of parked cars at Elmhurst, Bluebell and Ash. Access via Shilton road is also hazardous. Shilton road has dips and a bend obscuring oncoming traffic. The solution is to open up swinbrook road.

5

Do you have any comments on the strategy for Chipping Norton?

No

6

Do you have any comments on the meeting specific housing needs strategy?

Development in Carterton will put considerable pressure on road use, unlike say Didcot which has a good rail link to other towns. Are there any possibilities of a light rail link or metro ?

7

Do you have any comments on the use of existing buildings strategy?

No

I don't know what these are at he moment.
