West Oxfordshire Local Plan Housing Consultation

Local Plan Front Cover

The District Council is preparing a new Local Plan to replace the existing Local Plan adopted in 2006.

The purpose of this consultation document is to set out the Council's response to the findings of the Oxfordshire Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) and other relevant evidence and explain how the document will be taken forward.

The consultation document addresses the following issues.

  • The plan period;
  • The overall number of homes to be provided
  • The proposed spatial (locational) strategy;
  • How the overall housing requirement will be met including which sites are expected to be developed;
  • Future business land requirements; and
  • The type and mix of housing needed including affordable housing.

The provision of new housing is a vitally important issue for the new Local Plan to address and we would very much like to receive your views through this consultation. To comment online please click on the blue 'West Oxfordshire Local Plan Housing Consultation' link below. This will allow you to comment on individual sections by using the comments buttons, or by answering the specific questions at the end of each section and included at Appendix 1.

Alternatively, the Local Plan Housing Consultation can be downloaded as a PDF (see below) together with a number of supporting background papers (also in PDF format).
