"However, the existing northern edge of Witney is exposed........landscape Assessment (1998) and the Witney Landscape Assessment (2007). 6.55 Wrong and rude. You are basically saying in not as many words that the back of Vanner Road and Eastfield is unsightly. Even if they are, which they are not, they are mainly below the sight line. The north Witney countryside is the jewel in the Witney landscape. By far the most beautiful bit of countryside in the immediate area of Witney. It is also subst

Para 6.73 In the immortal words of the residents of Rock Ridge at the end of the film Blazing Saddles this is "Bullshit" . Pray tell me what does "the potential to provide substantive improvements to the settlement pattern in North Witney and to the interface between the rural landscape and the town" mean other than shed loads of houses.  There is somersetting willfully perverse in this strategy. You have the nicest countryside around Witney - so lets build on it. Of all your building options a

A written representation has been made by Persimmon Homes (Wessex) Ltd. in respect of a site at Hailey Road, North Witney. A location plan has been attached which clearly identifies the parcel of land of interest. The site encompasses approximately 14 acres, with a potential capacity of around 100 new homes.

English Heritage makes no comment on the principle of the development of the proposed site at North Witney. The development of the site should respect the setting of these heritage assets, and the policy should contain a specific reference to the conservation of t

the proposal to provide the smaller development between New Yatt Road and the Woodstock Road first would not provide the new residents of this estate the opportunity for their children to go to a local primary school.  We live in the vicinity and were unable to find a space in a witney school for our first child and then couldn't get our second child in the same school.  To build 200 homes (with Taylor Wimpy) before any infrastructure and school would be ridiculous. The traffic is already terrib

The additional Windrush crossing is essential to avoid traffic congestion in the future.

I feel the development of housing in this location is unacceptable because: environmentally speaking both agricultural and local ecosystems will be irretrievably lost, ecological foolishness;  the infrastructure of Witney is insufficient and will remain so unless it is developed from being a country town to becoming an urban sprawl; the introduction of building materials will degrade the land, losing a valuable resource while effectively altering and polluting the natural waterflow from the land
